Castles
This outstanding area gives you the opportunity to explore some of the most well know castles in England, from Alnwick Castle the magnificent home of the Duke of Northumberland, displaying a fine collection of furniture and porcelain, the dramatic fortress of Bamburgh Castle, you can also have fun discovering the ruined 14th Century Lancastrian castle of Dunstanburgh. Other Castles in the area include; Chillingham, Edlingham, Etal, Harbottle, Lindisfarne, Norham and Warkworth.

For those who want to delve deeper into the history of our surrounding area, visiting Brinkburn Priory, a superb early Gothic church and the Lindisfarne Priory the North’s orgional cradle of Christianity, can do so.

Wildlife
Wild life is one of the major attractions to the area giving you the chance to watch the red squirrels roaming the grounds of Hulne park, and the thousands of puffins on the Coquet Island Ashort boat trip from Seahouses,the Farne Islands provide a home for many species of sea bird, and a colony of grey seals. Inland you'll find heather moors, ancient woodlands and wildflower meadows. Giving you the freedom to get out and about.
